John L. Schuhr is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, Hattiesburg. Additionally, he received graduate training at the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. His passions for ophthalmology and pharmaceuticals led him into clinical research in 1998.
Equipped with experience and talents refined during a five year tenure at Atlanta Research Company John formed Coastal Research Associates, LLC on the Mississippi Gulf Coast to introduce clinical research to a growing area with very little exposure to clinical research. One year into the Coastal Research venture John realigned with former colleagues, Douglas G. Day M.D. and Mark A. Johnson to expand Coastal Research's services into the Atlanta market.
Through the compilation of a dynamic research team, Coastal Research Associates, LLC. has become recognized as a quality full service dedicated clinical research site.

Dr. Douglas Day is extensively involved in clinical research projects with Coastal Research Associates. Dr. Day is very active in the advancements of new medications for glaucoma. He has published numerous papers on new glaucoma medications as well as the advancements in glaucoma. Dr. Day is involved with the Robert N. Shaffer Glaucoma Society and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Day completed his graduate work at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Dr. Day remained in Texas, where he completed his internship at the University of Texas. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Arizona, Tucson and the University of Illinois, Eye and Ear Infirmary, Chicago. Dr. Day's fellowship in glaucoma was completed at the University of California School of Medicine, San Francisco.
Debbie has been dedicated to service her entire adult life. She entered the ophthalmic field at a very young age and has continually expanded her depth of knowledge in the field, making her extremely valuable to Coastal Research Associates and the patients and entities that we serve.
She always goes above and beyond to assure that our pharmaceutical sponsors are beyond satisfied with the ultimate product. She always does so with a smile and positive attitude that have our sponsors returning for future collaborations.

Mark A. Johnson graduated from Clark Atlanta University with his B.S. in Biology in the Summer of 1998. During his course of study, Mark became involved in congestive heart failure research. He later became involved in clinical pharmacology research at Morehouse School of Medicine in the fall of 1998.
Mark began work as a scientific technician with Atlanta Research Company in 1998 where he coordinated many trials with Douglas G. Day, M.D. and other physicians. In June 2004 Mark became a permanent fixture in the Atlanta operations of Coastal Research Associates, LLC.
